M. Peter Roy possesses a proven track record in commercial real estate. He is an expert in the areas of site selection as well as marketplace research and analysis. Within his field, Peter excels at real estate negotiation and mediation for purchases and leases, whether straightforward or complex. He has demonstrated excellence in retail and restaurant income growth strategies, raw land and outparcel best use approaches, as well as asset management for commercial properties. Peter also has extensive experience as a real estate liaison and mediator with governmental entities. He is currently owner and principal at SiteMatters, LLC; a commercial real estate services firm based in greater New Orleans.
Peter was previously employed by McDonald’s Corporation in various real estate and development capacities for 28 years. His most recent position there was serving as Lead Director of Restaurant Development for McDonald’s Mid-America Group. During this time, he was responsible for sales and income growth by directing multiple teams in the creation and execution of smart restaurant development plans across a large portion of America. Prior to that role, Peter was Development Director for McDonald’s Great Southern Region business unit where he led an award-winning team responsible for new site selection, restaurant relocations and rebuilds, while simultaneously overseeing a major remodel initiative for most of McDonald’s existing locations in the Mid and Gulf-South areas.
He began his real estate career as a leasing manager in 1983 with Maurin-Ogden Retail Development Corporation (forerunner to Stirling Properties). Peter then served in a senior director role assessing and disposing of owned real estate for the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation prior to joining McDonald’s. He is also a graduate of the American Management Association Leadership curriculum.
Peter received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, majoring in Finance. While he was earning his degree, he served as LSU Student Body President in 1981/82. He currently serves on the Board of the Ronald McDonald House in New Orleans.
